The first time I was there was back in the days of the USSR, and although compared to the same Hungary it was rather poor, it still felt like a European country. Now Romania is unrecognizable, however, the historical monuments are still the same. The castles are incredible, books about Dracula immediately come to mind. The country is green, the architecture is very interesting, there are many beautiful carved wooden details in the decoration of houses, and wells of incredible beauty. And Romanian cuisine deserves special praise: the food is hearty, tasty, with lots of vegetables and fruits. In general, there is much to see, to enjoy the local cuisine and the hospitality of slightly noisy but very charming Romanians.
