2Some people I know live either in Los Angeles itself or around LA. I dream of going there one day, too. Although the architecture there is boring, the city itself attracts me. Probably because of the movies, or because creative people gather in L.A. and create the atmosphere of the city.
I know the ocean is cold there strangely enough, although surfers don’t care and some of the locals don’t either. It’s important to choose the right area to live in. Or even to move, if that is the goal. And of course, the more prosperous the area and the higher the rating of the same schools, the more expensive the cost of housing or hotel will be.
Every neighborhood in Los Angeles is memorable and unique. The city center, however, looks unsightly, despite the fact that there are skyscrapers in it. And there aren’t as many as in New York or Chicago.
But I like more the neighborhoods that are separate cities and not officially part of LA, although travelers and expatriates don’t separate them from LA anyway. They are Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Expensive little towns. I love Beverly Hills for being cozy, green, clean. And I also love Santa Monica for the wide sandy coastline, for the ocean, for the pier — Santa Monica pier.
